A two fronts thread!!!! Mike, I have those pics stored here somewhere if you need them! That musta' been excellent, man! Tommy Stinson, ha! It was in 89, Fall, September, October, whenever ...the Lone Star Roadhouse up on 53rd ... the place w/the bus lashed to the facade. Cool joint but not *quite* *the* Lone Star. Anyway, NRBQ show, Tommy was roaming around trying to be noticed, nobody was. So I bought him a beer. Walked up to him, as usual, handed it to him, no pomp or circumstance as I never really know just what to say to one of those *rock types* anyway. Was there w/just a date for the evening and we were roaming around ourselves ...EVERYWHERE we went in the damn place ... Tommy pops up. It was funny, the guy was like a lost little guy following us two around ...two nobodys. Methinks he was just trying to scrounge another beer off me really ..ha! m < In a message dated 6/4/04 2:15:51 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Steven.Durben@cignabehavioral.com writes: > >Elvis was the first famous person I'd ever met, and the encounter > was during my first-ever time backstage at any concert, so I was > doubly nervous...so nervous, in fact, that I didn't realize until > after the fact that Tommy Stinson of the Replacements (the openers) > had been milling about my general vicinity the entire time I was > waiting to talk to Elvis. On that tour Tommy Stinson tried on two different occasions to pick my girlfriend up right in front of me....that BASTARD! LOL!
