Manilow also did a fun synth-dance cover of the 4 Seasons "Lets Hang On" around the same time as "Oh Julie". And he later cut a Billy Joel-like rocker called "Some Kind of Friend" that made the Top 30. The worst thing Manilow did was in the late 90's on a CD called "Summer of '78" when he covered a entire album of 70's schlock like "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" and Dan Hill's "Sometimes When We Touch". I bet Clive Davis came up with the concept. BTW Someone did a grungy cover of "Cant Smile Without You" a few years ago - It was on a all-covers SOTT CD and that person didnt send any liner card or on-line notes. Anyone know who did this??
