David Cassidy - This was at the New York Seaport touristy area in the summer of 98. His atrocious CD which I cannot remember the name of had just come out, and it had bad R&B attempts at old partridge songs. There was a line of maybe 2 hundred people. As we were in line it was announced that the only thing he would sign was his yucky new album, and Sam Goody was there to sell it to us for 18 bucks. So we all had to buy that, and then wait. Then he came. And we waited. Then he started signing, then took a break after like a half hour maybe, then got up on this little stage and said hello but that he wouldn't sing, then he started signing again. I got up and asked if is old albums would ever be issued on CD. He just made a face at me and waved me off. I should have told him to fuck off but I was just so appalled at his bad behavior. What a jerk. Bobby Sherman - He gave a lecture as part of the learning annex in NYC. About 40 or so people were there in this hotel conference room. He was awesome. Really nice. Talked about how all of us should learn CPR. Really cool. Small dude. Of course I am a really big guy, but you know, he seemed bigger on those albums. He signed stuff in the middle of the lecture, chatted with everyone. Then after another hour he had a question period. I raised my hand and he called on me, and REMEMBERED my name!!!! I was with a pal of mine, Angela and she freaked out and started going "he remembered your name he remembered your name!" Bobby actually pointed at me and said "John". What a cool dude! Paul Westerberg - Now this is wacky. It was at the 9:30 club in DC. A buddy of mine had given me a bootleg where Paul sang "sweet gingerbread man" which was a Bobby Sherman tune. So I brought the CD of the Bobby Sherman album that had it. I waited by his bus after the show with a bunch of other people, and he started signing stuff and was really cool. I handed him the CD booklet, and he looked at it weirdly for a second, probably because it was Bobby's face and not his looking back at him. I said I heard him sing "sweet gingerbread man" and then Paul broke out into "little woman"! So now I have a Bobby Sherman CD with Paul Westerberg's and Bobby Sherman's signature on it.
