I actually think 'Driving Rain' is a really good album. "Freedom" is kinda lame, and I wish he didn't put it on there, but the rest of the album rocks nicely and has some great songs. I read an interview with Peter Buck where he said that after a while a band can't compete with it's own legacy. Obviously this applies to Macca more than almost anyone else making records. How many people hear any of his classic works, Beatles, or solo without also "hearing" some sort of nostalgia?
