I caught the video for one of the tracks from "Purple Rain" the other day on 
the big screens at the Hard Rock Cafe. The sound was off so I couldn't tell 
if it was "Purple Rain" or "When Doves Fly" (though there wasn't a bathtub 
in it so I must assume the former).

The most laughable sequences were those with him down by the lake with the 
female love interest (Vanity?). A purple midget silhouetted against a 
screaming orange sunset....it looked like a screen-test for "Mad Max On 
Golden Pond".

Goofy. And to think we all dressed like that in the '80s (I've got pictures 
that my KIDS aren't even allowed to see).
