So how come #1 is so off the mark?  What I've heard of the last album certainly didn't suck and  while he can sure dip deep into maudlin and sentimental (so can I :) ), I never had much feeling he'd sold out. Don't get me wrong..there's sure some weak EJ material out there, but I never got the feeling it was due to selling out. Personally I find myself having renewed respect for the guy over the years.
