I've really been enjoying the new Indie 103 station here in L.A. and the 
variety of stuff it's been playing (not so much of the mainstream modern
rock singles that KROQ mostly plays these days).

I grew up on KROQ.. It was good for a long time, but ever since 2000 (or
probably a little before that) they stopped playing the older music (you
rarely even hear any 90's anymore) and now it's all the newer popular
"alternative acts".

So I was looking at the top songs playing on both stations right now
and I figured I'd post them here.  Quite a difference..

KROQ's Top 20:

4. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps
5. The Strokes - Reptillia
6. Blink 182 - Down
7. Linkin Park - Living From You

9. Morrisey - Irish Blood, English Heart
10. Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
11. The Postal Service - Such Great Heights
12. Bad Religion - Los Angeles Is Burning
13. Modest Mouse - Float On
14. AFI - Silver And Cold
15. The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love
16. 311 - Love Song
17. Lost Prophets - Last Train Home
18. Story Of The Year - Until The Day I Die

Now, there are some songs there I like.. modern rock these days 
is showing a vast improvement over just a few years ago when we were
tortured by the likes of Korn and Limp Bizkit (my opinion.. )..  Out of that
batch, I do enoy The Postal Service, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, 
Bad Religion and Jet.

.. and right below the top 20 at 22 is Ben Kweller's "The Rules" .. There are 
some songs that are shared between the two but Indie's not playing
any of the mainstream stuff that most of the modern rock stations are
playing these days.

Out of this list I'm really enjoying The Get Up Kids, Stills, Spiderbait,
Muse, Loretta Lynn, Modest Mouse and Jet (as well as the shared songs
I said I liked above).
