As noted elsewhere, Nick Heyward was the lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and all-around frontman for Haircut 100.  But that's almost a footnote, at this point, since he's been far more prolific as a solo act than that short-lived band was.

If you like THE APPLE BED, you should also seek out earlier releases like FROM MONDAY TO SUNDAY (1993) and TANGLED (1995).  The layered harmonies, infectious melodies, and Beatlesque arrangements found on APPLE BED are pretty consistent across these albums--not surprising, since Heyward wrote, produced and arranged all three--and I suspect you'll enjoy them all.  

I probably like FROM MONDAY TO SUNDAY the most of these, due in large part to the addictive appeal of the sappily-titled lead cut, "He Doesn't Love You Like I Do."  Sounds sorta like a great lost '60s British Invasion single--Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits fronting the Seekers, perhaps?--with multitracked vocals over acoustic guitars and handclaps.
