Ditto for me on Will's comments above, although I was long past twenty in
1990 and not looking to KC as a spokesperson. Matter of fact, my Dad was
about the same age when the Beatles hit the Sullivan show and MY life
changed forever, and HE didn't get it. But it wasn't about my Dad then, nor
was it about me in 1990.

Dying young does protect the legacy though. Judging by how many musicians
and bands burn through their genius quickly and then just run on the wheel,
who's to say what would come next? Might have been a glorious run of
pensive, life-altering music or a decade of failed promises. We'll never
know. All we do know is that in his place we have the Foo Fighters
(thankfully) and that train-wreck of a widow.
