Good luck finding them. There was an accompanying zine with very complete discography of all the 60s Canadian garage rock. I'll have to look at home. pacemaker records did a fine job with the Gaiety Records masters (The Plague), reissuing two comps and several stand-alone band reissues (Souls of Inspyration). They also did Ugly Ducklings, etc.... Big problem, as always, is who actually owns what. I tried to do one when i worked at Attic Records and back then (80s) everyone thought their masters were invaluable and wanted all sorts of concessions and money. I think it is a lot easier now, plus the technology to clean up vinyl and tapes is way ahead of... uh.... getting the vinyl lp damp in taping from it (to reduce noise), which we had to do on a Jack Scott reissue way back in the day. another problem is the singles by said bands are always better than the eventual lps.... I am just today starting work on a re-issue of the legendary Vancouver 2lp compilation called Live At The Grooveyard that came out on Tom Northcott's New Syndrome label and featured all sorts of 60s Vancouver garage & R&B acts. This will be on the Neptoon Records label (they are a record store). They just gave me a whack of vintage photos and posters to scan.... whew!!! will keep you.... uh.... posted (as it were) ralph alfonso BongoBeat Garage Sale Never Stops!! this week: The Murder Of Brian Jones paperback by his Swedish girlfriend! it's an annoying book but damn if you stay glued reading it.... http://cgi6.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=beatnik_guy
