>>I believe the former song must have had a herky jerky handheld recorder type video on NightFlight, which is generally where i found out about those sorts of things... (sham 69, anyone?) so what was the deal? Were they huge in some part of the world that was not Elmhurst, IL, where anyone I wanted to listen to the Bambi Slam thought I was off my rocker? Were all their records designed to look like presents tied with bows?<< I remember Bambi Slam being a kinda big seller when I worked at Atomic Records. I thought that their album covers/logo was a lot like Enuff Z'nuff's...except one's neon pink & the other's neon green. Night Flight, Hollywood Heartbeat, Friday's, SNL...I "discovered" so many great bands in the pre-MTV days via these shows. I probably wouldn't have heard The Angry Samoans or Angel City or The Twisters (covering "Where Did Our Love Go" before Soft Cell) or known who Bob Welch was or been "First on my block" with so many other artists if it wasn't for these shows. What was the punk segment of Night Flight called? Didn't something happen to the host? I think I remember hearing that he was murdered by some punks who thought he was a poser...or something. Anyone?
