If we're talking the "five or ten records I couldn't live without"
list...uhhhhh, nope. But there were some damned good records released last
year.

Sub-topic. Ever revisit your old "top ten" lists and wonder "what was I
smoking?"...I can stand alongside a lot of my picks, but more often than not
there's one that REALLY dropped off, and a few low-riders that would vault
to the top 5-6-7 in hindsight.

Then again, I'm sitting here listening to Randy Newman warble his way
through "Simon Smith And The Amazing Dancing Bear" from a Musikladen show
and realizing that I don't ever want to be on a desert island with only ten
records.
