alrighty:  that makes sense.  lets see if i can outdo myself with an even stupider question....do bands still release actual singles?   like, a good song, paired with a concession to the bass player?  or is a single more of a metaphysical notion wherein the label instructs ( or begs) the programmers which song to overplay next?
