...coming into the fray 24 hours late...I would have to say that The Darkness *HAVE* made it in America. I couldn't stand them when I first heard it last year. But at the insistence of friends who usually have sound judgment (one a guitar teacher), I gave them a few more chances. Oddly enough, "Growing On Me" is the song that...grew on me. I can't say I'm completely sold, but I would say I "get it". Their coming to the Midwest in March and I'll be there. That said, I wouldn't lump them in a pop category. The semi-joke Metal of Spinal Tap is where they belong. Their recent Rolling Stone interview has them sighting Zeppelin, Queen & AC/DC - not what I would call Power-Pop fare. Of course they're not going to come out and say they are a joke band because it would all fizzle out much quicker. By pretending to take it serious, they can get another album or two out of it. ****************************CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT*********************** E-MAIL AND/OR ITS ATTACHMENT(S) IS INTENDED ONLY FOR THE USE OF THE INDIVIDUAL OR ENTITY TO WHICH IT IS ADDRESSED AND CONTAINS INFORMATION THAT MAY BE CONFIDENTIAL, PROPRIETARY AND PRIVILEGED.
