You know, I loved the Cher song when it came out, against all rationale, and my wife was always, like, "You should HATE this-- it is like everything you hate!" And I kept saying, "I can't explain it, but there's a great song under all that gloss." I threatened to learn it on guitar to prove it. Then when I heard the Lux Liner version-- well, it wasn't precisely the version I heard in my head, but it was damn close enough. And I played it for my wife, telling her, "See? THAT's what I've been hearing." I still might spend a few days at some point with my ancient 4-track attempting to record the version in my head; it has some differences versus the lux liner one. But I think theirs totally kills. PS: Jocelyn, I think I now know how to properly pronounce your last name. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jocelyn Geboy" To: Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2004 4:55 AM Subject: Re: Luxury Liners > ~~~~i guess the phonetic pronunciation of my last name > finally has borne fruit in that i prefer the cher > version to the luxury liners version by leaps and > bounds.
