It was on mine sent last week-Rufus was my number one.I agree that Yo La Tengo was overlooked. It's soft and samba like but there is an edge-a lot is going on that's beneath the surface. And some subtle stabs at marriage by Ira in the lyrics. It is also a direction they have hinted at in the last couple of albums-particularly songs Georgia sang. Have not heard the Webb Brothers yet-or the Sleepy Jackson but will do because I like your list a lot. >From: "NIELS KREISHOLT" >Reply-To: audities@smoe.org >To: audities@smoe.org >Subject: 2003 Top 10 >Date: Wed, 14 Jan 2004 20:47:28 +0000 > > >1) Yo La Tengo: Summer Sun >2) Josh Rouse: 1972 >3) Rufus Wainwright: Want One >4) Cat Power: You Are Free >5) Super Furry Animals: Phantom Power >6) Sleepy Jackson: Lovers >7) Shins: Chutes too narow >8) The Knife: Deep Cuts >9) The Webb Brothers: s/t >10) Calexico: Feast Of Wire > > >"Summer Sun" is Yo La Tengo's softest and poppiest offering ever.
