i like em quite a bit, starting with the "ep" loveways (for the single "figures of art," mainly, but only cuz that was what i heard first, on www.3wk.com); then LOVE LOVE LOVED the first full release "girls can tell," though admittedly it had to grow on me awhile. "Kill the Moonlight" i found likeable, and with a couple of truly amazing singles ("jonathan fisk" springs to mind) and was pleased, upon seeing them for this tour, that they did not irritate me hardly at all (for some reason i went in expecting this britt daniel fellow to be sort of an effete snob sort, but he did not come across as one) and the band kicked ass live. "Lines in a Suit" and "chicago at night" are two of my absolute favorite songs from that year. Highly recommended to folks who like a wee bit o indie drone in their otherwise sheeny pop. but I do not have the newest of the new...any comments? if you're talking top 20, that must mean it's good, right? --kelly --- Stewart Mason wrote: > At 06:29 PM 12/18/2003 +0000, ron wrote: > >I's just wondering... perhaps Michael can shed a > light on the following. > >Are Spoon a band unliked by most Auditers... or are > they simply unknown by > >most here (I must confess I only found about them > this year and it came as > >a pretty good surprise... ) > > Spoon have come up in conversation many times here. > Many folks like them, > some (me included) aren't impressed at all.
