But he seems to need some physical > validation in "sharing" > everything he has. > > A truly sad human being whether he's guilty of these > accusations or not. > > Jaimie Vernon > > ~~~~you know, i agree. i don't condone or approve of his actions, but i think that he is definitely spiritually sick. i think that he was warped in childhood (again, doesn't absolve him of his actions...but his dad certainly seems to have done a number on him) due to an abusive home life and a fantastical upbringing of wealth and celebrity. combine that with a healthy dose of what i perceive to be mental illness (total disassociation/break from reality -- fantasy worlds, plastic surgeries, phobias re: germs, etc., the list goes on...) and you've got someone who really isn't living in a world that we can conceive of. maybe he touches these kids inappropriately and thinks he's being loving. maybe he thinks he's 'playing' with them (remember how as kids, we played 'doctor'??). again, i in NO way, think this makes this right, or does no damage to these kids or makes this not confusing or harmful to them. however, it seems to be one way to explain what planet this guy seems to be living on. the other thing is....our society allows this sort of behavior to go on by allowing the ultra rich and famous to have extreme 'eccentricities' even when they start to cross dangerous borders --- borders where we would normally start to question someone's mental health and maybe get them serious psychiatric help. (also see: howard hughes...) we excuse them and allow them to continue because they are rich and celebrities. what if we didn't allow him his exotic animals and playlands that might contribute to the alluring atmosphere to a 12 year old and his parents? what if people didn't pander to someone's phobias and merely treated them with the same regard that we would any other sick person? what if we didn't allow someone to pay off their debt to society in dollars instead of through the proper channels of the justice system that you and i have to play by? something tells me that things like this wouldn't have a chance to get near as far if our society didn't let fame and fortune warp our perception of people beyond any semblance of a balanced 'reality.' my .04, jocelyn __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
