Hi Jeff, Robert, and Jim. I am also a fan of The Darkness. They are WAY more popular in the UK than over here. I saw their video to " I believe in a thing called Love" on tv while I was in Liverpool . It's a great video and equally outrageous in attitude and approach. Then when I was in London I kept hearing their single played in dance clubs and elsewhere. Its nice to see a real rock band getting noticed over there for a change. If the trend continues, they could become popular there like Oasis did in the 90's. Stranger things have happened. I believe this band is a of parody of Queen, AC/CD, Zeppelin, ELO, Aerosmith, etc.. That parody becomes VERY clear once you see their video! They also sound vocally like a great lost late 70's band called Aviary! The amazing thing about this band is that they really pull it off doing the retro rock thing. The production on the cd is also total 70's rock. Others have told me they can't stand the singer in this band. I LOVE the vocals. That's what makes the band so unique. So far it seems people either love or hate this band. If you're looking for something a bit different with a good sense of humour, check this one out. Since its major label, it should be easy for you to find.
