Todd, I'm pretty interested in the big British bands that never quite took off in the US. My tastes are pretty mainstream, so I'll make a few recommendations. Most of these have minor US success so dig deep for some real pop gems. I get the feeling listening to these artists of what it's like to be part of a foreign culture. Give the following a deep listen: 10cc Nick Lowe Paul Wellar Robbie Williams (I know, I know, but there's some real quality here.) Queen ( dig out the album cuts) And, while you're at it, try a couple of New Zealanders: Neil and Tim Finn Crowded House Split Enz Dave Dobbyn Give' em a spin....Gene np: McCartney: Press to Play Bic Runga >From: jpgr Live Subject: British bands not Big in The U.S. I have become interested (More so) in British bands that are very big in Britain but not here. Mainly 1960's groups. Can anyone direct me to some of these greta bands? I have Creation, The Move, Pretty Things, Hullabaloos,Liverpool Express and probably a few others. Also I have conflicting information. Is it The Rocking Horse (Group) or a Jimmy Campbell solo project that Joey Molland (before Badfinger) and Billy Kinsley played on? Or did they play on seperate things? I saw a review that some people are trying to get the Rocking Horse album re-released. God Bless. Todd
