The Playmates, power pop from Osaka Japan, played IPO last night, and I can say, without hyperbole, that they blew the crowd away.  Great songs, great musicianship, and tight tight tight as a drum.   The only band I've ever seen at IPO asked to extend their set, and for good reason.  Wow.
 
Other highlights of the past 2 nights: The Churchills (could see them going big-time), The Nines, Soul Engines, and of course Splitsville.  Loved it all.
