Apologies if this album has already been discussed at length, but I feel the need to recommend the current Hawksley Workman album (Lover Fighter). His voice is somewhere between Bono and Jeff Buckley, but the music is quite varied. There are some moments where it's best described as PowerPop, others where it's a slightly more jovial Leonard Cohen. Tracks of particular note, I think, are "We will still need a song", "Anger as beauty" and "Autumn's here". One review lazily described his voice as being like Maple Syrup - lazy because he's Canadian - but I can see what they're getting at. Smooth voice over a very slickly mixed background, with some extremely good tunes. _________________________________________________________________ It's fast, it's easy and it's free.
