Yeah, the Kendall Cafe is a great place because of the artists they've booked in this small (very small) club. But that's it. It's not physically a very appealing club, nor are their policies. I have much fonder memories for Nightstage, which closed in the early '90s. Now THAT was a great small club. They seemed to do pretty well, too, so I never figured out why they bit the dust. The place has been sitting vacant (and not for sale as far as I can tell) ever since. Saw Matthew Sweet, Aimee Mann, Peter Himmelman, "In Their Own Words" shows and others there. Sigh. Now what hip similar venues are left? The Lizard Lounge? Johnny D's can be OK, but they don't tend to book much in the way of pop or rock. dap > Date: Mon, 6 Oct 2003 00:12:34 -0400 > From: king radio > To: audities@smoe.org > Subject: Re: anybody in Boston know the skinny on this?? > > 5 people were at the show.
