...for a younger, less charles-manson scary version of
the swirly cacophany of Soundtrack of Our Lives, with
the same VU influence, a healthy dose of Stones and
some more authentic blues too (hell, they sample hound
dog tylor), but with the occasional happy horns of
motown and galloping drums possibly swiped from
late-model Jam, you could do worse than checking out
Mando Diao.  The song "paralyzed" has me,
pardoxically, all jumping around and giddy this
morning.  aw hell yeah: bring on the swedes.  

also:  hot hot heat kicks ass.  i'm sure i wouldn't be
the first to call em Robert Smith fronting the Police
on a whole lot of crystal meth.  Or maybe I would be,
who knows. Nevertheless: they might be retro, but the
80s woulda been lucky to get some o this to call its
very own.  Never happier to be jumping on the
bandwagon for these uns.
