This from Rolling Stone.com:

"DAVE CLARK FIVE singer MIKE SMITH fell at his home in Spain on
September 13th and suffered a spinal injury. He is in critical
condition."

I saw him play at B.B. King's this March and he was in fine voice. This is 
sad.
