So let me get this straight:
There's no need to register copyrights.
But - and see if you can follow me here - at the same time, there is an 
impending need to register copyrights.

I'm just going to mail all my recordings to the Library of Congress, but 
mark the packages "caution: do not open or break seal in any way. May 
contain Anthrax." Because sometimes I record covers of my favorite Anthrax 
songs and copyright them as "derivative works", and because if they OPEN the 
package, how am I going to prove that I mailed the songs to them before 
Dolly Parton ripped them off?
