Pepper was the all time low for the Beatles from the standpoint of songwriting. The songs on Let It Be even far surpass them. There are a couple of exceptions ("A Day In The Life" primarily), but overall it is very weak and even most of the Beatles were unhappy with it. I actually find it far more depressing than the Dylan stuff... though I guess more out of disappointment than anything. And I think nearly every artist of that period would have a very difficult time standing up next to Dylan's Blonde on Blonde. Such an amazing collection of songs and performances! Ryan
