Yes. It is ideal to play it on a DVD-Audio compatible DVD player(JVC makes a nice carousel for about $170-haven't bought it yet, will soon), but you can play it on a DVD-V player. If you have 5.1 surround and, especially, DTS capabilitites, the Pet Sounds DVD-A is great.
