All the Music/Data CD-Rs I burned when I bought my first (4x) burner in the fall of 1997 still work fine. I just wish I had better declicking/denoising programs back then because Im having to redo my older vinyl to CD-R rips. Most of the CD-R tests I have read on the web were done by severly abusing the CD-R (scruffing, scratching, leaving them out in the sun, even sticking them in the microwave?) but if you keep them in Jewel Boxes/Sleeves they should hold up fine. I just stay away from the bargan no-name CD-R brands. My favorite CD-R brand right now are FujiFilms - mainly because they are made in Japan and are thicker and higher quality than the Taiwanese made brands, burn great on my 52X burner and are available everywhere. PS: make backups! Billy At 08:04 AM 8/27/03 -0700, you wrote: >I have dozens of CD-R's made in 1996 and they are all >still readable.
