That area has been "gentrified" since the '70's. A few blocks away 
things get a little dicey. Raleigh really never has had the depressed 
areas like Durham has. That whole area is the Convention Center and 
Moore Square Art District. The Lincoln has been refurbed into full 
fledged rock club with massive lights & sound. It's about 2/3 the 
size of the 9:30 Club in DC.
