I just heard a promo copy of this, and I heartily recommend it to anyone with leanings towards 70's classic rock with a pop edge. Far more melodic than I expected from the "Dirty Sweet" EP, with about half of the tracks being slower numbers or ballads. The rocking tracks are sort of Slade-ish (sorry, no creative spelling though), while the slower tracks have a little flavor of the Stones circa '69-70 (some country influence, the Mick/Keith style vocal harmonies.) I had hoped the record would be good, but I didn't expect anything more than some catchy big dumb rock, and thus was very surprised! I also give a thumbs up to the new Dandy Warhols record, but with the caveat that this seems to be their Eighties influenced record, so if you're disturbed by some synth with your pop, perhaps not your cup of tea.
