Mose Allison is one of the all-time jazz piano greats, a brilliant songwriter (he also wrote "Parchman Farm," which has been covered and/or ripped off by just about everyone) and one of my favorite jazz vocalists. Plus you simply can't go wrong with a guy who writes songs called "Your Molecular Structure" and "Your Mind Is On Vacation But Your Mouth Is Working Overtime." The Rhino anthology ALLISON WONDERLAND is an excellent starting point. S
