Every album had at least one great song. but Give the People is a truly great album, and I think it belongs in the pantheon with all great Kinks records. Around the Dial, Give the People What They Want, Art Lover, Better Things. GREAT SONGS! I could actually do without some of their more popular mid career stuff. Apeman, Cell. Heroes., etc. These songs don't do much for me, megahits as they might be. They're certainly no Johnny Thunders. >> Absolutely! Better Things is a power pop masterpiece and Art Lover is as great as anything from the 60's. Funny thing. I have heard the song "Rock & Roll Fantasy" 100 times but last week I heard it on the radio and really *listened* to the lyrics and it kinda blew me away. I think that I need to make a compilation cd of all those great songs from not so great lps. MB
