I agree with you 100%.  My computer at home has become my home jukebox.  I
bought a 120 gig drive & dump every CD I buy into it.  I also subscribe to
E-Music and have a good collection of MP3s from there.  Another reason I
like to get everything on my computer is that I have a 110 disc changer at
work that has text display.  I make "greatest hits" or mix CDs for work &
Roxio encrypts the Artist, Album & Song for display on the CD-R.  Sometimes
it can be a hassle, but if you try enough alternates (Real One, Music
Match...or Roxio (rip wavs & convert them), you can usually get a CD onto
your computer.

Bruce - Have you looked into the possibility of a Not Lame/EMusic
affiliation?  Smile Records recently added their catalog.  Parasol, Look Out
& Epitaph have their stuff up there.  Many of the labels hold their New
Releases for a month or two before posting them...I'm assuming this is the
length of the majority of initial CD sales.  I often buy something that I
know will be posted because I want the artwork/liner notes and I can't wait
to hear it.  This could be a future venue for the label or a way to keep the
back catalog "in print" w/o additional pressing costs.

QUESTION...if anyone is still reading:  The new Liz Phair (for example) has
the free internet EP available to CD buyers.  I can only get this to
stream...Am I *supposed* to be able to download it?  Is it set up only to
listen to?
