IMO it was a great Del Shannon record, he could've easily been a Wilbury. Michael adds: He's right on the money. Del's "Rock On!" album is a wonderful album which gives you a little insight as to what he would have added to the Wilbury line-up. I've always considered it be a Traveling Wilburys offshoot because of the production and other artists involved. There was a short time frame where in addition to both Roy Orbison and Del Shannon that Jeff Lynne and Mike Campbell were behind a number of great releases from 1987 to 1991. Some great stuff that included Jeff Lynne's first solo outing, Tom Petty's "Full Moon Fever", a great track for Randy Newman from "Land Of Dreams", Julianna Raye's "Something Peculiar", Ringo Starr's "Time Takes Time", "Into The Great Wide Open" from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and Brian Wilson's release from 1988. Let me add that one of my favorite Christmas songs came from this period - "Christmas All Over Again" from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
