Del's catalog is a real mess because he recorded for many labels. There are plenty of hits compilations to be found (check Amazon.com), but stay away from older CD's from budget labels and some imports, because they used poor quality master tapes or worn 45's as the source. My personal favorite is Rhino's "Greatest Hits", but it runs from '61-to-69 and leaves out some very good records. I heard via Specrtopop that Raven records in Australia has put together a more comprehensive 2-CD compilation that covers his entire career. Also look in cut-out bins for "The Liberty Years" on EMI, which covers a excellent, though unsuccessful run with that label. Also his early albums for Big Top and Amy records are outstanding. Del committed suicide in 1989 - Its been said he was taking Prozac for depression and had a bad reaction to them. I also remember seeing a story on a tabloid TV show about his wife suing the makers of the drug. I never found out if she won, lost or settled out of court.
