I had gotten a number of 45s and a few LPs as presents.  But my first purchase of 45s with my own money from my brand new paper route at age 12 was:

Kingsmen - Louie Louie
Ripcords - Hey Little Cobra
Bobby Rydel - Forget Him
Beatles - I Want To Hold Your Hand

The last two were picture sleeves and I still have all four 45s and the two picture sleeves along with a ridiculous number of other 45s, LPs and CDs.

The first LP I bought with my own money was, I believe, the Four Seasons Golden Hits on Vee Jay.

Ah to be that young and innocent again.
