Ok..I have drawn some fire 'cause I don't think Billy Joel is a rock'n'roller- I am sure he belongs in some singer/songwriter Hall of Fame..but Rock'n'Roll?..Please
 
As far as hating the music I am supposed to hate..well..I was not a big fan of Tiffany Mynxxx Styxx or Journey back in the day...I think they are both awful..I know some of you love them..Do I know the lyrics to some of their songs?..Yes I do..they were played to death when I was in Jr High so I got to know them pretty well..
 
However, I draw the distinction between a song that reminds me of my school days- which brings a smile- and liking a song or group that plays that song.  For example, hearing "Lady" today makes me think of my days in Jr High..that brings a smile to my face..not the damn song..I try not to confuse the two.
 
When I started listening to punk records back in the late 70s  I was not supposed to like Yes..but I do and did..I like Van Halen's first album too!
 
So..when I say Billy Joel is bad..when I say Styxx and Journey are horrible..I am fine with that..I don't hate them because I think it is cool..I am freakin 40 years old..I stopped worrying about being cool way back when I was 39!
 
I tell you what..when you tell me that FOW sounds like the Sonics..I will get excited..when you tell it sounds like BJ..I get bored.
