> >Well, I see they are touring. Has anyone seen them live? Any > >thoughts? Not to pick nits, but the name of the band is actually Lilys (no "the", and one "L"). I've seen them a few times, here in L.A., the best of which was a few years back at the Whisky, when the members of Beachwood Sparks were backing Kurt up at the time. More recently, Adam from the Blondes has played with him (at least a handful of shows), as well as Aaron Sperske (ex-Beachwood Sparks). His last group -- Mickie Walker, Christopher Powell, James Robinson, Mark Scott and Quintin Stolzfus -- recorded the "Selected" EP, which were re-recordings of tracks dating back to the band's earliest days, including a cover of "Touch The Water," an Apples in Stereo track from '94. Kurt's latest band of Lilys features several people he's been playing with back in North Philly (where he owns a row home): Mickie Walker - vocals, bass Gerhardt Koerner - piano, vocals Steven Keller - percussion, vocals Torben Pastore -- guitar Don Devore -- guitar There's more info at: http://www.manifesto.com/lilys.html http://makeashorterlink.com/?W16C32A94 You can listen to short samples in either Windows Media or Real Player at Amazon -- there's links to only five tracks from the new album: 1.
