I've never seen the TV show "American Dreams," but I have certainly noticed
the promos for it; apparently, most (all?) of the episodes feature
modern-day music acts doing full-on "tributes" to classic performers from
the 60s-era setting of the show. (For instance, this Sunday, Third Eye Blind
will portray the Kinks.)

I have a question for anyone who watches the show: Does this gimmick suck as
bad as it seems it would?
