Hey! I think the NEXT BIG THING should be just doing your OWN THING and not 
being influenced by certain media etc.  There is so much CRAP being peddled 
daily out there but if you look below the surface there is still a lot of 
great music out there.  You are not gonna find out about it on the radio or 
by watching VH1 or certainly MTV (which has almost nothing to do with music 
anymore).
Great lists like this help a lot and for me just about every great thing that 
I have discovered in the last 10 years has been from reading magazines like 
Mojo, Uncut,
The Big Takeover,Magnet, Ugly Things etc. and taking some chances when 
purchasing cds.
Also there is a wealth of great music that is put out on the Not Lame and 
Parasol labels and oversea's site such as Heyday, Whammo and Karmic Hit etc.
And that is the "next big thing" to me.  There is still a mystical, magical 
world of music out there if you want it.
