After ordering from popboomerang's very cool web site ( http://www.popboomerang.com/ ), I just got my copy of Shake Yer Popboomerang a couple of days ago and I love it! Just so you know, I am good friends with Scott Thurling, the man behind the Popboomerang label. Some of my very favorite bands, like Even, Icecream Hands, YAI, DM3, etc., are Australian, so it isn't suprising that I would ultimately cross paths with our fellow audities list member from Australia, Scotty. With each compilation tape that I traded with Scotty, I was introduced to even more great Australian pop. For years, I have encouraged him to follow his dream and release a compilation CD on his own label because of his great musical taste and knowledge of Australian pop music. I always knew that his dream would ultimately come true one day, and I alway promised him that I would buy a copy as soon as it was released. I am thrilled to say that Scotty has done a brilliant job and that this CD is a great compilation of Australian guitar pop music. There are great songs from bands that I was previously unfamiliar with, like Her Majesty's Finest, Sarah Sarah, Treetops, The Dreamdayers, and Danny McDonald. And great songs from bands and musicians that I know and already love, like Tim Reid, Joe Algeri, Marcus Goodwin, and Charles Jenkins. I hope everyone on this list will support Popboomerang and get this comp. Check it out. You won't be dissappointed, I promise you it has 23 tracks of pure Australian guitar pop bliss! And to my friend Scotty, congratulations on a dream come true! Ron NP The Datson Four
