>Islam remarks, "'Peace Train' is a song I wrote, the message of which >continues to breeze thunderously through the hearts of millions and there is >a powerful need for people to feel that gust of hope rise up again. As a >member of humanity and as a Muslim, this is my contribution to the call for >a peaceful solution." > I suppose this "peaceful solution" stuff wasn't so important when the Ayatollah called for the death of Salman Rushdie and the Moslem formerly known as Cat Stevens agreed. What an idiot. I feel like this guy has stolen so much from me. I grew up listening to "Tea for the Tillerman" and "Teaser and the Firecat." But his selective and hypocritical support for extreme violence has caused me to stop listening to any of it. All the songs that I once thought were so beautiful are lies. I just can't get past that. It goes way beyond "I disagree with him." He just seems to be an enemy of tolerance and peace, and his calls for peace now are beneath contempt. Rant machine off. Sorry.
