<< BILINGUAL is easily the weakest PSB album -- only a few top shelf tunes.  NIGHTLIFE was a pretty good return to form.  But the new one, RELEASE (containing "Home and Dry") is one of their best.  Much less dancey and featuring Johnny Marr on almost every track.  Hooks don't get much bigger than on "I Get Along".  Of the proper LPs, I'd also recommend ACTUALLY (their second album, with "What Have I Done To Deserve This") and VERY.  One of the greatest bands of the past 20 years, IMO. >> I must say, if that's the WEAKEST, then I'm really in for a treat. I really love "Metamorphosis", "Up Against It", "Se A Vida E", "Red Letter Day"... all great! I think Bilingual is just fantastic, and since my store has a used copy of the 2CD reissue, I'm planning on trading up in the very very near future. I just bought a copy of the 2CD version of Release today, too... << My favorite album is Very, and I think all of the 2 CD reissues are full of great tunes. >> I'm admittedly a sucker for 2CD reissues of things, so I think that only further cements my decision to start buying up the catalog. Just out of curiosity... those two CD reissues were all imports right? I've seen a a few of them (though not all) at various Newbury stores for the reasonable price of 18.99, which--less my discount, is actually quite cheap. But I haven't seen them all--presumably because they *are* imports--so I guess I'll have to ultimately order at least a few. Their catalog is so vast and confusing, though. The 2CD reissues do a good job of rounding stuff up, but are there still stray tracks left on "Alternative" that aren't included? And what about that "Closer to Heaven" soundtrack? Even the Disco albums (particularly 3, which is mostly new material and includes a Felix Da Housecat (!) mix) would probably be important purchases further down the road. Ay yi yi. --Jason
