Maybe they think they'd sound like a bunch of old men trying to pull off psychedelia. They actually didn't do any of their '60s stuff (I was thinking of yelling a request of "Make Me Stay A Bit Longer", but I'm sure it would have fallen on deaf ears), which doesn't surprise me. Yeah, admittedly Status Quo has never been strong on innovation, but their songs have a lot of melody and they're all great fun to me.
