Finally got around to watching my tape of this week's "West Wing" and was pleased to see Jill Sobule performing "Heroes" (her own song by that title, not Bowie's) in the bar scene with Toby and Josh. 

Aimee Mann was on "WW" a while back.  I predict the next alt-Joni on the show will be Cat Power, who, incidentally, seems to be doing a Cougar/Mellencamp thing and shifting back into her real name, Chan Marshall.

np: Mark Bacino - MILLION DOLLAR MILKSHAKE. Listening to it makes me wonder if my stereo system has caused a breach in the space-time continuum and is receiving a broadcast from the world's best AM pop radio station, circa 1969-1973.  And that's a good thing!
