I was watching Smallville last night and noticed that not only do the show
producers put out their own music mix tape of songs from the show, they even
have a character on there creating a mix tape during a scene in the show.

Since Gilmore Girls has an album of associated music, I guess it's just a
sign of how tv shows are now like films with their cross marketing potential.

Maybe with these types of innovative music/show tie-ins they can figure out
ways to solve the problems with music licensing that WKRP and Freaks and
Geeks have encountered.
