I interviewed Will for the Big Takeover nearly four years ago when the record was re-released on Giant. I asked him at the time if he thought the whole major label thing was dicey, this after the whole Geffen debacle with The Semantics album. But he told me the deal on the first album was a licensing deal and that he retained all rights to his masters. Surprises me that he went with the label whole-hog for the next one. He does have a family to support. Maybe the major label money looked like a big ol' security blanket. I dunno. Major labels do have advantages that indies don't. And certainly vice-versa. Had Will's project been a priority then the label woulda spent the money to promote. Suxxess is all relative anyway I suppose. ===== www.kelly.minnis.com __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
