This is my first Delgados, so I can't compare it to others, but I do plan to pick up the other albums now. The track that hooked me in was "Coming in From the Cold"...a bit obvious, but Emma has such a pretty voice and such a happysad melody. The lead vox on the album are split evenly between between Alun and Emma and Alan has some pretty good tracks as well, not the least of which is "If This is the Plan". Yes, Dave Fridman produces, and that's both a good thing and a bad thing. In general, I like his production style, except when occasionally he goes for this grand crunchiose sound which makes my hifi sound like it's clipping. I noticed this on one or two tracks on Soft Bulletin as well. Didn't really notice it at all on Yoshimi though. Maybe I need to upgrade my my Emerson all-in-1 unit. ;-) But I highly recommend the new Delgados' "Hate". Regards, Brent
