~~~~~man, i saw the rhett/neil show last wed. and wow. what a show. aside from the annoying frat boy contingent who insisted on yelling/singing every word of rhett's repetoire in my ear, leaning on my shoulder as if we were buds and screaming for 'time bomb' until rhett said, 'if i promise to play it, will you settle down??' i had a beautiful time at a wonderful double bill. i missed neil this summer, due to a prior engagement i could NOT get out of, and i was sooo bummed that i'd not be able to see him again. but lo and behold, there i was, front row for two, two, two wonderful performances in one night. i got a chocolate covered strawberry passed to me, and just had a great night of music in my favorite city in the world, chicago. (i haven't been to europe or australia yet, so, i'm not sure on that count...) but as far as crowded house/neil finn goes, there just isn't a song that hits me wrong. at one point, when neil was singing, i thought, 'man, he's the mccartney of my generation.' and then i thought, 'how old IS he, anyway...?' how was your show?? jocelyn --- elizabeth brion wrote: > OK, since nobody's shot down my Blondie suggestion > yet, I'll nominate > two other possibly universally liked (if not loved) > bands: Crowded House > and Cheap Trick, anyone? > > In mental preparation for the Neil Finn/Rhett Miller > show I'm seeing > next week, I just listened to all my Crowded House > albums back to back > this morning after not having heard them much in a > few years... damn, > that's a solid body of work.
